About J.A.C.S.

J.A.C.S Specialists Ltd (J.A.C.S) provides support to vulnerable young people aged 16 – 18 to help them gain the confidence and skills needed to live independently. We are also there to give young people the emotional and practical support needed in their day-to-day lives to help them overcome obstacles and help keep them on track. Through supporting young people in this way they are better prepared for managing their future tenancies and therefore prevent homelessness and social exclusion from mainstream community.

“Young people need support that is unbiased and reflects the individual needs of every young person.”

Young people are supported in either a flat with an ensuite or in their own self contained flat.

All young people are provided with their own living space. We encourage social interaction amongst peers fully supported by staff 24 hours a day.

Quality Care

The Business/Service Manager is Chantelle Haye (Director of J.A.C.S Specialists ltd) who currently holds an NVQ Level 4 in Leadership & Management. Chantelle has 13+ years experience in managing recruiting for various roles within the Social Care & Housing Sector.

Support Staff

The support staff team are suitably trained and experienced in the field. They are selected not only for their employment credentials but also because of their engaging personalities and passion to help young people. All staff are DBS cleared to an enhanced level to our “Safer Recruitment Policy”.

Each young person is allocated a keyworker and assessed based on their needs. The results of this assessment are used to formulate a support/care plan. We provide  a ‘JACS Independent Training’ programme to help the young person acquire the skills, knowledge and confidence necessary for living independently.

Company Progress

We specialise in offering an outcome-focused supported housing service using a solution-focused approach which is inherently positive and respectful in nature as it helps to recognise and draw on the strengths and resources of young people to help them achieve their goals. This approach is particularly effective in engaging, communicating and working with young people

Our placement packages typically include:

  • Placing the young person in suitable accommodation (taking into account the needs, personalities and risk factors of young people in shared homes and ensuring the right complement of individuals)
  • Providing additional outreach key-work support per week
  • Emergency 24 hour telephone support
  • Property management including payment of all bills and maintenance.

To ensure high standards of quality, the service is designed and delivered according to the National Minimum Standards: Children’s Homes Regulations and The Supporting People Quality Assurance Framework as far as possible. Whilst adherence to these guidelines is not mandatory, the company recognises the importance of working within a quality framework which provides a useful benchmark for self-assessment and continuous improvement.
